Private Insurance
Reimbursement

The revenue stream under this opportunity comes in the form of insurance reimbursements through the Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM). Patient eligibility is verified for against the practice’s designated formulary by DispenseDoc. The physician or medical office staff collects the required copay and the patient’s insurance is billed for the medications dispensed. Our software provides medication guidelines, prints labels for the medication and electronically sends reimbursement for the medications to the PBMs.

Patient Cash
& Carry

Cash and carry medication dispensing is the most common and this type of dispensing provides your patients with a convenient, confidential, and cost-effective alternative to fulfilling their prescriptions at the pharmacy. The patient pays the practice directly for the medications received; there is no need to adjudicate and bill the insurance carrier. On average, the pricing of the prepackaged meds dispensed to the patient is similar to the price they would pay at their local pharmacy.

Services

In-office Dispensing

In-office physician dispensing of medications allows for a streamlined healthcare process: rather than leaving the doctor’s office, traveling to a retail pharmacy, and waiting for the pharmacy to have medications available, patients can receive their medicine directly from their doctors. Point of care dispensing saves time and effort for patients, improving their satisfaction and speeding up their healing process by providing medicine on-site.

The efficiency of physician dispensing also improves patient compliance, as patients are less likely to neglect to pick up prescriptions when they are provided directly at point of care.

Patients are also more likely to understand and follow the instructions pertaining to their medicine when it is explained by their doctor upon receiving. This improves patient adherence to physician instructions and expedites the healing process.

In-office physician dispensing is beneficial to doctors as well, offering the opportunity to increase revenue with this ancillary service.

Credentialing

Our experienced team will guide you through the Onboarding process to ensure the practice collects the necessary documents to become your own pharmacy. We understand the state laws and requirements and are available for any questions the practice has during their partnership with DispenseDoc. The team then works on the behalf of the practice to license and contract with 40+ Pharmacy Benefit Managers, providing detailed status updates and next steps throughout the process.

Training.jpg

Training

DispenseDoc conducts detailed training for the providers and team members that will be using the program from the very start. Our service makes dispensing medication and prescriptions efficient and straightforward by implementing an easy-to-use web-based software system. We will train you on reviewing patient eligibility, adjudicating patient insurance, tracking inventory, and managing dispenses. We continue our training and customer service throughout your partnership with DispenseDoc by assigning dedicated Account Managers to your practice.

Formulary.jpg

Formulary management

Your dedicated Account Manager will work with your practice team on reviewing the medications the Practice has in their formulary. Our web-based program also provides a Practice Dashboard which offers notifications of low-level medication counts and medications that are due to expire. The DispenseDoc team is constantly reviewing new medications that are presented by our wholesalers and providing information to our partners about medication opportunities based on their specialty.

Revenue Cycle
Management
& Reconciliation

All the data from each dispense the practice executes is collected and fed into the billing system where a claim is submitted to the patient’s insurance carrier. Utilizing the data within the system, each practice is provided monthly invoices indicating all their dispenses for that calendar month. DispenseDoc can aid in reconciling dispensing costs and insurance reimbursements to ensure all adjudicated amounts are collected.

Web-based software

Our web based dispense system, facilitates compliance by allowing customers to manage, order, track and dispense medications directly from any computer. A simple internet connection allows for the practice to print labels and all associated compliance materials.

Benefits

IMPROVED PATIENT CARE
AND COMPLIANCE

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) has noted that 20–30 percent of medication prescriptions are never filled and approximately 50 percent of medications for chronic disease are not taken as prescribed.

A review in the Annals of Internal Medicine estimates that a lack of adherence causes nearly 125,000 deaths, 10 percent of hospitalizations and costs the already strained healthcare system between $100– $289 billion a year.

Patients on Medicaid or the elderly usually must find rides to their physician’s office, which often makes transport to the pharmacy even more challenging. In these cases, receiving both services at the same location would eliminate the inconvenience.

INVENTORY
MANAGEMENT

Our web-based software program allows for simple inventory management right from your Practice Interface.

You can see how many medications are available to dispense through a simple click into your inventory space. Additionally, shipment information is detailed with corresponding invoice numbers and tracking information.

If there are medications dispensed at a common pace, we can set par levels for ease with automatic ordering

INCREASED REVENUE

Practices that provide in-office dispensing have experienced revenue and profit growth without having to employ additional staff or take on additional patients.

In addition to the direct financial benefit, practice also increase patient satisfaction which can lead to increased referral patients.

Practice revenues reportedly increased from 10-15 percent for well-run in-house pharmacies thanks to repeat business as well as savvy marketing and pharmacy management.

SIMPLE ORDERING
& QUICK PROCESSING

All orders are placed through the web-based software and go directly to our Account Managers who review and verify the order

Orders are tracked and invoices are entered into the system for your practice by the DispenseDoc team

LARGE MEDICATION FORMULARY
& COMPETITIVE PRICES

We offer custom formularies, providing wholesale products at competitive prices tailored specifically to your patient demographic.

As experts in the field, we are adept at handling pharmaceutical market fluctuations and will work to provide your practice with the best prescriptions at wholesale cost, always improving the value of our services

DispenseDoc also wholesales products which helps our partners keep their inventories low and provides the most aggressive product pricing

PRACTICE
EFFICIENCY

In-office dispensing can save a significant amount of time for the practice by removing the need for prescription notes, communicating with the retail pharmacy, and having to deal with re-prescription in case the medication is not available.

The time spent waiting to fill a prescription medication at a retail pharmacy may also inconvenience the patient thereby discouraging them from purchasing their necessary treatment.

Additionally, there are numerous scenarios where older or restricted patients must find rides to their physician’s office, which often makes transport to the pharmacy even more challenging. In these cases, receiving both services at the same location would eliminate the inconvenience.

Get to Know Us a Little Better

The idea of DispenseDoc was brought to fruition because of a simple statistic stating that a startling “1 in 3 prescriptions goes unfilled at the pharmacy” read by our owner Chad Beene. As he dug deeper into the reasons behind this, he discovered that the two main mitigating factors were simply cost and convenience. We set out as a company to find a way to create a tool that physicians could use to help eliminate that issue because in the end, we realized that putting the pharmacy control back in the hands of the physician was the only way to make this work.

Fast forward 6 years and DispenseDoc is the country’s longest standing point-of-care dispensing company with a specific focus on commercial insurance along with workers comp and personal injury. During that time, we have developed an all-encompassing pharmacy program based on our extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the complexities that surround it. Our efforts culminated in a program that is convenient for your patients, while providing a steady stream of revenue for your practice.
